Casablanca – After three years away from the scene, Moroccan artist Hamid El Hadri has returned to the spotlight during the holy month of Ramadan with a new album titled “Roots.”
The album reflects a spiritual journey shaped by personal experiences and a renewed connection to faith.
Announcing the release on Instagram, the singer shared a heartfelt message about the meaning behind the album.
“My dear ones, I present to you this new album that I worked on with sincere spirituality. I returned to the roots to draw strength and continue my path with you. Thank God,” he wrote.
Beyond its connection with Ramadan, the title “Roots” carries a deeper meaning in El Hadri’s life. In 2022, the artist had to step away from the music scene after being diagnosed with cancer, a moment that deeply changed his outlook.
The difficult experience led him to reflect on life and spirituality. The album was born from that journey, marking a period where he says he felt closer to faith and more connected to God.
Speaking on the “Bassaha Ftorkom” program on Chada TV, El Hadri explained how the project came to life. He described his return to music as starting from a blank page, approaching his career with a renewed sense of purpose.
He described his comeback as starting from “zero,” explaining that returning to the “roots” was the most natural way to begin again. The experience, he added, strengthened his spirituality and brought him closer to God.

El Hadri’s comeback is not limited to the album. The artist also returned to the stage with two concerts in Tangier.
He already performed at Riad Sultan Theater on March 11, with another concert scheduled tomorrow at the Ahmed Boukmakh Cultural Center.
The concert also carries a charitable purpose. Proceeds from tomorrow’s show will benefit the Baqi El Kheir Association, supporting its efforts to assist people in need and promote solidarity within the community.
With “Roots,” Hamid El Hadri turns a difficult chapter into music, offering listeners a project shaped by resilience, spirituality, and a return to what matters most.
