Fez — Organizers of the Jidar Rabat Street Art Festival have opened applications for the 2026 “Collective Wall” project, a talent incubator designed to train and showcase Morocco’s next generation of mural artists.
Set to run from April 16 to 27, the festival’s 11th edition will once again turn Rabat into an open-air gallery. Within that larger program, the “Collective Wall” is positioned as a hands-on laboratory for emerging creatives, art students, and urban culture enthusiasts who want to work at monumental scale in a supervised, collaborative setting.
Selected participants will spend a full week producing a large collective mural while exchanging techniques, approaches, and creative references.
This year’s “Collective Wall” will take place from April 20 to 26. Only 12 candidates will be selected, with organizers emphasizing a supportive environment built around learning, experimentation, and teamwork.
The format also creates a potential pathway into the festival’s official programming in future editions, offering visibility and professional experience to artists still early in their careers.
For the 2026 edition, the residency will be mentored by street artist Bakr.
Organizers point to his mixed background as a key reason for his selection, combining traditional know-how rooted in Fez with academic training at the Casablanca School of Fine Arts. His profile is being presented as a model for younger artists who want to balance heritage, technique, and the raw energy of contemporary street art.
Applications must be submitted online and should include a completed registration form and a portfolio. The deadline is April 5 at midnight. Candidates must also be fully available in Rabat for the duration of the project, as the residency is structured as an intensive week of production and collective work.
