Lugano – Netflix and Sony officially announce a sequel to the hit animated musical fantasy “KPop Demon Hunters,” building on the success of last year’s blockbuster release.
The new film will continue the story of the fictional K-pop girl group HUNTR/X, whose members secretly fight supernatural threats while maintaining their careers as global pop stars.
The sequel will once again be directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the creators of the original film, who have also signed a multi-year partnership with Netflix to develop future animation projects.
Although details about the plot of the sequel have not yet been released, filmmakers have indicated that the next installment will expand the world of the series and explore the characters.
Due to the complex production process involved in animated films, the sequel may not be released until around 2029, although an official release date has yet to be announced.
