LuganoVirgin Limited Edition has announced plans for a new exclusive retreat near Marrakech, set to open in 2027 as part of its growing global portfolio.

The retreat, currently under development, aims to offer an immersive experience that celebrates local culture, craftsmanship, and the natural surroundings.

Developed in partnership with Moroccan real estate firm Sazanes Immobilier, the project will feature 37 suites and is designed to reflect the region’s heritage, drawing inspiration from traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and Berber culture.

Positioned about 25 minutes from central Marrakech and near the Atlas Mountains, the new retreat will also complement the brand’s existing Moroccan property, Kasbah Tamadot, allowing visitors to combine multiple destinations within one trip.

The interiors will also showcase works by Moroccan and African artists, reinforcing a strong connection to the country’s rich art scene.

Sustainability and local integration are central to the project, with architecture designed to blend into the surrounding landscape using natural materials such as stone and wood.

The culinary experience will be a central part of the retreat, with plans for multiple dining venues offering a range of atmospheres and flavors.

Guests will be able to enjoy an intimate Chef’s Table experience, as well as a more relaxed speakeasy-style bar.

All concepts will be rooted in a farm-to-table approach, with ingredients sourced from locally grown produce, highlighting the richness of regional flavors and seasonal ingredients

The experience will extend well beyond accommodation, with a strong emphasis on wellness, relaxation, and leisure.

Visitors will enjoy access to a traditional hammam and a 40-metre swimming pool, offering spaces designed for rest and rejuvenation.

A range of activities, including tennis, padel, and horse riding, will also be available, alongside thoughtfully curated cultural experiences that connect visitors with the local surroundings.

Bookings for the new property are expected to open in September 2026, ahead of a phased launch beginning in early 2027.

The project reflects Virgin Limited Edition’s broader vision of creating immersive, design-led hotels that combine luxury with cultural authenticity, further positioning Morocco as a key destination in the global luxury travel market.
