Casablanca – Moroccan band Hoba Hoba Spirit will perform this Thursday at Megarama Casablanca at 8:30 p.m., marking one of the most anticipated musical events of the week.

The concert promises an evening full of Gnawa, rock, hip hop, funk and Moroccan folklore, all delivered through the band’s signature sound that has shaped the country’s alternative music scene for years.

Since its formation in 1998 in Casablanca, Hoba Hoba Spirit has built a strong following thanks to its unique style and bold artistic direction.

Over more than two decades, the band has released eight acclaimed albums, namely “Hoba Hoba Spirit,” “Kamayanbaghi,” “Lost,” “KalaKhniKov,” “Nefs & Niya,” “Blad Skizo,” “Trabando” and “Al Gouddam.”

Their music moves between Darija, English, and French, combining sharp social commentary with storytelling that resonates with everyday life. Hoba Hoba Spirit don’t just sing, they translate lived experiences into music that remains grounded and expressive.

Through their lyrics, the band explores themes ranging from identity and social realities to youth culture and political undertones, all while keeping an energetic and engaging musical approach.

Led by founder and frontman Reda Allali (guitarist), the band emerged during a time when rock and alternative music were largely underground in the country. Its lineup also features Anouar Zehouani on guitar and vocals, Adil Hanine on drums, Saad Bouidi on bass, Othmane Hmimar on percussion and backing vocals, and Abdessamad Bourhim on guitar.

Through relentless touring and a growing catalog of original songs, they built a devoted following that spans generations and crosses social boundaries.

Organized by 10Mentions Com & Events, the upcoming concert promises a night where boundaries between the performers and the audience disappear, bringing together generations of fans for what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
