Lugano – South Korean K-pop group BTS has returned to The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon, marking their first major appearance on the program in several years.
BTS members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, reunited with the late-night show host to promote new music and engage with fans worldwide.
The group’s return forms part of a two-night special, featuring performances and interviews that highlight their latest musical era while reconnecting with global audiences.
The appearance marks BTS’s first late-night television performance in years, following a period of reduced group activity.
During the first night, BTS delivered a performance of their track “Swim,” featured on their latest album “Arirang”, released on March 20.
The project, which includes 14 tracks, marks the group’s first full studio album in several years following a hiatus.
The performance was filmed at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, providing a visually striking backdrop that reflects the group’s signature high-production style.
During their interview with Fallon, the group discussed the meaning behind their new music and their return as a full group.
RM described the album as a reflection of identity and emotion, drawing inspiration from Korean culture and personal experiences.
The track “Swim” was presented as a symbol of perseverance and growth, connecting the group’s past journey with a new chapter in their career.
A two-night television event
The special is structured as a two-night takeover, allowing BTS to present multiple performances and extended interview segments across consecutive episodes.
With the second night of the special set to air, BTS’s latest appearance signals a renewed phase of activity for the group.
This format provides a broader platform for the group’s comeback, combining entertainment, storytelling, and music in a way that maximizes audience engagement.
The group’s return will continue with the release of their upcoming Netflix documentary, “BTS: The Return,” set to drop tomorrow, March 27, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and process behind their comeback.
Beyond the album and documentary, BTS is also preparing to launch their global tour, “BTS World Tour Arirang,” beginning on April 9.
