Casablanca – Moroccan doctor and comedian Oubeidallah Hlal, known as Dr. Oubeid is preparing for his upcoming spectacle “La Consultation,” set to take place in Paris on April 22-24-25.

While this will not be his first time on stage, the experience stands out as a unique blend of humor, science, and medicine. The show combines medical insights and personal anecdotes with comedy, offering a fresh and engaging format.

Beyond the white coat

In a video shared on his Instagram account, Dr. Oubeid explained what inspired him to pursue both medicine and comedy, emphasizing that individuals are not limited to a single path.

“Even in the worst moments, a small laugh can shift the whole atmosphere. I found myself trying to make patients laugh, with a light word or a small joke, just to help them forget the pain, even for a moment. That’s when I realized something important: I am a doctor, yes, but inside me there is also someone who loves making people laugh,” he said.

He also talked about misconceptions people have about having more than one dream or career path.

“Many people saw this as a strange choice. Some even told me to choose one path because it’s impossible to do both. But life taught me otherwise. Having more than one dream is completely valid. You can be a doctor and a comedian at the same time. You can have a profession and still carry a strong passion within you.”

The announcement sparked enthusiasm among fans and fellow professionals. Among them, Dr. Monsef Hlal, recalling his long-standing support for the idea.

“Finally… you did it. For years, I told you that blending medicine and humor could create something unique, something exceptional. You took the time to develop the idea, to prepare yourself, to find your path, and today you had the courage to take that step,” he commented.

While some fans expressed disappointment that the spectacle will not take place in Morocco, Dr. Oubeid hinted at possible upcoming performances in the country.

Between cardiology and comedy

Beyond his career as a cardiologist, Dr. Oubeid is widely known for his lighthearted content on Instagram, where he shares medical information in an engaging and accessible way.

He is also part of the comedy duo “Les Inqualifiables” alongside Amine Belghazi. Together, they have performed in several shows and recently participated in the “Aji T’hdm” festival held during Ramadan.

This time, however, his solo spectacle promises a different experience. “La Consultation” moves beyond traditional comedy by blending real-life medical stories with humor, offering audiences both entertainment and insight through personal anecdotes drawn from his work with patients.
