Marrakech’s La Mamounia, Royal Mansour Among Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2026

The two Moroccan hotels found their place among the 100 best hotels worldwide, with La Mamounia ranking 12th and Royal Mansour ranking 77th.

Casablanca – Morocco’s La Mamounia and Royal Mansour Marrakech have earned spots among the World’s 100 Best Hotels in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2026, placing two of Marrakech’s most celebrated luxury addresses on the global list.

While Royal Mansour ranked No. 77, La Mamounia claimed the No. 12 spot worldwide, while also being named the No. 1 City Hotel in North Africa and the Middle East.

The ranking comes from Travel + Leisure’s annual World’s Best Awards survey, which invites readers to share their favorite travel experiences around the world.

The 2026 edition drew participation from more than 207,000 Travel + Leisure readers, whose feedback covered over 10,088 entries spanning hotels, cities, cruise lines, and other travel experiences, resulting in 661,000 votes overall.

The awards reflect readers’ evaluations of the experiences that make a stay memorable, from service and hospitality to the overall quality of the travel experience, with exceptional service remaining a defining feature of the hotels that turn first-time visitors into returning guests.

Morocco on the global luxury map

The presence of two Marrakech hotels in the world’s top 100 highlights the city’s continued position as a major destination for luxury travel, where Moroccan architecture, craftsmanship, hospitality, and contemporary experiences come together.

But Morocco is not the only African country on the list. It’s also joined by South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, Botswana, and Tanzania.

South Africa, Tanzania, and Kenya each appear with three hotels, further highlighting the continent’s growing presence in the global luxury hospitality scene.

Another recognition for La Mamounia

For La Mamounia, the latest recognition adds to an already strong year of international accolades. Earlier in June, the Marrakech landmark secured Condé Nast Traveler’s “Triple Crown,” adding another major distinction to its long list of global honors.

With both La Mamounia and Royal Mansour now featured among the world’s 100 best hotels, Marrakech continues to strengthen its reputation as a destination where Moroccan heritage and high-end hospitality meet on a global stage.
