Rabat – The second half of 2026 is packed with some of Bollywood’s most anticipated releases, bringing together action, drama, romance, comedy, fantasy, and historical epics.
From star-studded projects like “Alpha,” “Ramayana,” and “King” to long-awaited sequels including “Drishyam 3” and “Awarapan 2,” Indian cinema fans have plenty to look forward to.
‘Alpha’
One of the year’s biggest releases, “Alpha” marks the first female-led installment in the YRF Spy Universe.
The story follows a young agent recruited into a secret program known as Alpha, only to uncover a conspiracy that threatens both her future and national security.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor.
‘Dhamaal 4’
The popular comedy franchise returns with “Dhamaal 4,” following another treasure hunt that quickly spirals into a series of hilarious misadventures.
Directed by Indra Kumar, the film reunites Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Javed Jaffrey.
‘Batwara 1947’
Set during the 1947 Partition of India, “Batwara 1947” tells a human story about families torn apart by political and religious conflict.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the historical drama stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and Ali Fazal, and is scheduled for release on August 14.
‘Awarapan 2’
Nearly two decades after the original film, “Awarapan 2” sees Emraan Hashmi reprise one of his most beloved characters.
The romantic thriller continues the protagonist’s journey through new dangers and emotional conflicts. Disha Patani joins the cast, with the film arriving in theaters on August 14.
‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’
“Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups” is among the year’s most ambitious action dramas.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth in a crime-filled story of power and survival. It is set for release on August 26.
‘The Vvaan – Force of the Fores’
“The Vvaan – Force of the Forest” follows a man returning to his ancestral forest, where he awakens an ancient force hidden within Indian mythology.
Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, the fantasy thriller is scheduled for August 28.
‘Eetha’
Inspired by the life of legendary Lavani performer Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, “Eetha” stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the biographical drama explores one of Maharashtra’s most celebrated folk artists.
‘Mirzapur: The Movie’
Following the success of the hit streaming series, “Mirzapur: The Movie” expands the crime saga onto the big screen.
Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, and Divyenndu Sharma return as the battle for power in Mirzapur continues. The film is set to premiere on September 4.
‘Daayra’
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, “Daayra” is inspired by true events and examines themes of justice, morality, and crime.
The film marks the first collaboration between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran and is scheduled for release on September 18.
‘Drishyam 3’
Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar in “Drishyam 3,” continuing one of Bollywood’s most successful thriller franchises.
The filmmakers have confirmed that the Hindi version will differ from the original story, offering audiences fresh surprises while revisiting the family’s hidden secrets.
‘Ramayana’
Among the most ambitious Indian productions ever made, “Ramayana” stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
The first installment follows the early chapters of the ancient epic, from Ayodhya to Rama’s exile, with a large-scale cinematic approach.
‘King’
Closing out the year is “King,” an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand that brings Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan together on screen for the first time.
The cast also includes Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, and Abhishek Bachchan, making it one of Bollywood’s most anticipated releases of 2026.
