Rabat – From long-awaited superhero updates to first-look footage and surprise appearances, Comic-Con 2026 delivered one of its busiest editions in years.
Comic-Con 2026 opened its doors in San Diego, drawing fans from around the world as major studios revealed their biggest upcoming projects. Marvel Studios returned to the convention after a two-year absence, joined by Netflix, Warner Bros., Prime Video, and, for the first time, Apple TV+.
Marvel Studios dominated the weekend with its highly anticipated Hall H presentation led by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
The panel focused on “Avengers: Doomsday,” following the release of the film’s first teaser earlier in the week.
Although the official guest list had not been confirmed beforehand, Robert Downey Jr. and several cast members were widely expected to appear.
The studio also teased its future slate, with fans anticipating updates on the next Spider-Man film, the upcoming Disney+ series VisionQuest, scheduled to premiere in October, and the long-term plans for introducing a new generation of X-Men characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Beyond Marvel, Hall H also celebrated two acclaimed filmmakers.
Director Brad Bird reflected on his career, including beloved animated classics such as “The Iron Giant,” “Ratatouille,” and “The Incredibles,” while unveiling his upcoming Netflix film “Ray Gunn.”
Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro returned to Comic-Con to mark the 20th anniversary of “Pan’s Labyrinth.”
He was joined by actor Doug Jones, actress Ivana Baquero, and cinematographer Guillermo Navarro for a special retrospective celebrating the fantasy classic.
Apple TV+ made its Comic-Con debut with exclusive previews of its hit sci-fi series “Silo,” the upcoming mystery series “Widow’s Bay,” and “Matchbox the Movie,” the John Cena-led adaptation inspired by Mattel’s iconic toy cars.
Prime Video also arrived with a strong lineup, debuting footage from the long-awaited “Spaceballs” sequel featuring director Mel Brooks and members of the cast.
Horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan made his Comic-Con debut with a first look at his adaptation of Stephen King’s “Carrie,” joined by actor Matthew Lillard.
The platform also showcased two of its biggest upcoming productions, “Blade Runner 2099,” starring Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh, and the next chapter of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” as studios competed to generate excitement for the months ahead.
