‘Nostalgia’ Brings the Spacetoon Classics Back to Rabat

If your childhood sounded like Rimi, Sali, Conan, and Babar, August 10 might just be your next date.

Casablanca – After more than a year away from the stage, Moroccan ensemble “Nostalgia” is bringing the iconic Spacetoon songs back to life on August 10 with a concert at the Bouregreg Stage as part of the 14th edition of the “Festival Été des Oudayas” in Rabat.

For the generation that grew up with Spacetoon, these melodies are far more than cartoon theme songs. They are the soundtrack of childhood, instantly transporting listeners back to afternoons spent racing home after school glued to the television as one adventure followed another.

A long-awaited return

Organized by Musiland, “Nostalgia” has built its reputation on reviving those treasured memories through live performances.

Rather than simply covering familiar songs, the group recreates the collective experience of growing up with Spacetoon, transforming audiences into one giant choir singing every lyric by heart.

From Rimi and Sali to Al-Qannas (Hunter × Hunter and many more, the concert promises an evening where nostalgia takes center stage.

Led by the voices of Safaa Elmansoury and Nawfal Taki under the direction of maestro Hamza Amazgar, the performance is expected to blend childhood memories with the energy of a live orchestra.

The concert also marks Nostalgia’s first performance in over a year, signaling what appears to be the beginning of a new chapter. In response to a fan on Instagram, the group hinted that a Casablanca performance could soon follow.

A nostalgic addition to the festival

Meanwhile, Festival Été des Oudayas continues to unveil its lineup for this year’s edition, taking place from August 9-12.

Organizers have already announced Gnaoua maalem Hamid El Kasri, Moroccan chaabi singer Abdelmoughit, Fatima Zahra Laaroussi, Uzi, Fouad Zbadi, Nostalgia, and most recently Nasr Megri.

Among a lineup that spans Gnaoua, chaabi, contemporary music, and rap, “Nostalgia” offers something different.

It’s not just another concert on the schedule, but an invitation for thousands of Gen Z Moroccans to revisit the songs that made Spacetoon much more than a television channel.
