Rabat – For months, we somehow convinced ourselves that a micro shoulder bag capable of holding exactly one lip gloss and a bit of money was a daily lifestyle choice. It was fun but definitely not for work.

Now, normal life is back in session. We need laptops. We need charging cables thick enough to jump-start a small car. Fortunately, Cartier has stepped into the return-to-office battle with a piece of heavy luxury that can fit your fit on a daily basis.

Ladies welcome to Large Tote Bag, Clash de Cartier world.

High jewelry is commuting too

The French Maison looked directly into its jewelry archives rather than inventing something new. Specifically, it borrowed the unapologetic design language of its Clash de Cartier line, which first debuted in 2019 and quickly established itself as the house’s cheekiest modern classic.

The whole premise of Clash has always been a thrilling little war between opposites. On one side, you have the impeccable, aristocratic refinement that Cartier has mastered since 1847, but on the other, you get an architectural, punk-adjacent rhythm of studs, beads, and clous carrés (square-topped studs).

Translating that spirit into leather goods could have felt gimmicky in less capable hands. But scaled up onto an envelope shaped tote, the bag feels right at home, especially since it relies on structural intrigue and clean lines to make its point, instead of loud and shiny logos.

Built for the real world

While the exterior plays with high-concept geometry, the inside is pure, unadulterated practicality.

It is designed for a comfortable shoulder carry, it measures a roomy 300 mm high by 390 mm long and 190 mm deep (approximately 11.8 x 15.3 x 7.5 inches).

That is more than enough breathing room for a middle-sized laptop, a tablet, your daily agenda, and whatever mid-afternoon snacks help keep morale intact.

This new bag is made in Cartier’s leather workshops in Florence and crafted from soft, natural-grain calfskin designed to become even more beautiful with wear.

Inside, it features a contrasting lambskin lining, a zippered pocket for valuables, and a removable pouch to keep smaller essentials like your keys and AirPods from getting lost.

Modern caps for vintage bottles

The Clash tote reflects Cartier’s ongoing philosophy of treating its design history as a living, breathing creature.

Through the Cartier Collection and its historical archives, it has spent decades cataloging, preserving, and re-examining its most iconic motifs to keep it alive with the ongoing fashion trends that tend to happen in minutes.

Cartier avoids the trap of treating heritage like a museum piece under glass, instead it turns jewelry signatures into functional items.

The Clash tote lets motifs originally forged in gold live in the wild, holding water bottles and commuting through the morning rush, and most importantly shine even on a tired shoulder.
