Royal Mansour Marrakech Ranks 26th Among the World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026

The Moroccan hotel also stands as one of only two African hotels on the list, alongside Cape Town’s Mount Nelson, which ranked No. 34.

Casablanca – Royal Mansour Marrakech has added another accolade to its rich history, ranking 26th among the World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026 and earning the title of Best Hotel in Africa.

The ranking places the Moroccan palace among the world’s most highly recognized hotels and makes it the only Moroccan property in this year’s top 50

It also stands as one of only two African hotels on the list, alongside Cape Town’s Mount Nelson, which ranked No. 34.

‘A medina within a medina’

Located just steps from Jemaa El Fna, Royal Mansour Marrakech built its identity around a concept that mirrors the city itself.

The hotel moves beyond the conventional rooms and corridors, featuring 53 private riads, connected by winding alleyways, creating what the hotel describes as a “medina within a medina.”

The World’s 50 Best Hotels ranking similarly describes the property as an attempt to capture Morocco in physical form, with its architecture, interiors, food, fabrics, and layout all drawing deeply from the country’s culture.

Spanning expansive grounds enclosed within the city walls, the property brings together traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, lush gardens, fine dining, and a massive sanctuary dedicated to wellness.

Each riad features its own unique architectural design, with multi-story living spaces opening up to views stretching toward the distant Atlas Mountains.

The hotel also houses four signature restaurants, alongside its gardens and Le Jardin and its central swimming pool.

Its spa includes a hammam, treatment rooms, a gym, a heated pool, adding another layer to the palace’s approach to Moroccan hospitality.

Putting Moroccan luxury on the world’s stage

Royal Mansour’s No. 26 position also places it ahead of several internationally renowned names on this year’s list, including Raffles London at The OWO, The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, and Bulgari Roma.

At the top of the 2026 ranking, Rosewood Hong Kong took the No. 1 spot for the second consecutive year.

Capella Bangkok ranked second, followed by Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. Atlantis The Royal in Dubai and Passalacqua on Lake Como rounded out the top five.

For Morocco, Royal Mansour’s latest recognition places Moroccan craftsmanship and hospitality alongside some of the most celebrated hotel experiences in the world.

Its ranking also makes Marrakech one of only two African destinations represented in this year’s top 50.
