Friday the 13th is considered the unluckiest day in many western cultures, due to the superstition cultivated at its roots.

 

Fez– The superstition dates back to the 19th century in France, according to Britannica , fear of Friday, 13 can provoke, namely anxiety, physical symptoms and a condition known as “paraskevidekatriaphobia”.

 

The day and date combo occurs twice in a year, bringing a blend of superstition and different supernatural rituals. 

 

The origin of this phenomenon is a mix of Christian tradition, numerology and cultural storytelling, where some interpretations mentioned in Hola  assumed that in the Christian faith there is a significant meal called “Last Supper”, where Jesus ate with his closest followers.

 

Judas was the 13th guest to arrive, and later on he betrayed Jesus, which contributed to his crucifixion on Friday.

 

The death of Jesus brought darkness and sorrow to people, which end up linking Friday to 13th as a symbol of bad luck.
