Rabat – In recognition of her efforts to positively impact the songwriting and composing community, multi-award-winning songwriter and artist Raye will be receiving an Ivors Academy Honours on October 2.
Held in the InterContinental London Park Lane, the event will be attended by leading songwriters and composers, including members of Academy, bringing together the music industry’s community.
The Ivors Academy Honours celebrate exceptional service to the UK music landscape, recognizing those who champion songwriters and composers.
They continue the legacy of the Gold Badge Awards, established in 1974 by The Ivors Academy (then known as the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors – BASCA).
These honours aim to spotlight innovators, trailblazers, and advocates who create positive change and support the music scene.
After winning “Best Contemporary Song” at the Ivors 2024, Raye used her acceptance speech to powerfully advocate for “the voiceless beating heart of the industry, which is songwriters,” urging the music world to value and reward these crucial artists properly.
Roberto Neri, chief executive of the Ivors Academy, praised Raye as “one of the most gifted songwriters of her generation,” highlighting her consistent advocacy for better pay and recognition for fellow writers.
Raye “always gives full respect and voice to fellow writers” and has “consistently called for better pay and greater recognition for songwriters, championing structural change to protect the talent behind the music we love,” he highlighted.
Tickets for the Ivors Academy Honours 2025 are now available, with Professional members receiving a 50% discount.
