Marrakech – Lebanese comedian Jon Achkar is set to make history with his new stand-up show “Am Jareb” (“I’m Trying”), which will take place on October 23 at the legendary Olympia Theatre in Paris. 

The milestone performance marks the first-ever Arabic-language comedy show to be hosted at this iconic venue.

Produced by Front Row Filmed Entertainment, the show will take place at the Olympia, known as the “Cathedral of Live Entertainment” in France, a stage that has welcomed some of the biggest names in global comedy, including Chris Rock, Louis C.K., Gad Elmaleh, and Eddie Izzard. 

Achkar’s appearance places Arab comedy alongside these international acts, underscoring the growing global presence of Arabic-speaking performers.

Developed by Jon Achkar and produced by Front Row, “Am Jareb” follows a sold-out world tour that spanned over 75 cities across the globe, from Beirut, Riyadh, Dubai, and Cairo to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, Hamburg, Marseille, Paris, London, Geneva, Berlin, Sydney, and Melbourne.

In his latest show, Achkar dives boldly into the contradictions of modern Arab life. It is both hilarious and exhausting, delivering sharp, relatable humor for  Arabs in the region and abroad. 

With his witty observations and signature charm, he explores themes of identity, family expectations, and relationships in a constantly shifting world.
