Marrakech – Morocco’s “Atlas Lions” Mohamed Boukhari, Ali Melouk, and Mohamed Chraa, are proudly representing the Kingdom at the Spogomi World Cup 2025 final, taking place this October 29.

Originating in Japan, “Spogomi” blends the words “sport” and “gomi” (Japanese for “trash”), turning waste collection into a competitive, eco-conscious sport.

In Morocco, the qualifying phase was held in Casablanca under the patronage of the Embassy of Japan, gathering 30 teams united by a common goal: to raise awareness about environmental protection through an inclusive and dynamic civic initiative.

The competition officially kicked off on October 28, with the opening ceremony, team briefings, and an international presentation celebrating solidarity, sportsmanship, and ecological awareness.

Beyond the competition, the Moroccan team embodies a new generation of environmental ambassadors — blending teamwork, responsibility, and civic commitment. Through their participation, Morocco reaffirms its position among nations using sport as a force for positive impact and collective mobilization.
