Fez — Moroccan-American producer RedOne has released a new music video titled “AFRICA,” bringing together a high-profile lineup of African and diaspora artists as part of the cultural build-up to AFCON 2025.
The track features French Montana, Akon, Yemi Alade, and Congolese artist Innoss’B, forming a pan-African collaboration that blends global pop, Afrobeats, and hip hop influences into a single, unifying statement.
Released on YouTube, the video leans heavily into symbolism and atmosphere, with cinematic visuals that evoke struggle, resilience, and collective strength. The project positions music as a parallel language to football, echoing AFCON’s broader message of continental unity beyond competition.
A continental message through music
Rather than focusing on a single country, “AFRICA” frames the tournament as a shared African moment. The lyrics and visuals emphasize pride, heritage, and solidarity, reflecting RedOne’s long-standing approach to merging global pop production with culturally grounded narratives.
The song was written by RedOne, Akon, Yemi Alade, French Montana, and Innoss’B, and recorded in 2025 at 2101 Studios in Dubai. Mixing, engineering, and mastering were handled by Steph Elouardi alongside RedOne, maintaining the polished, international sound that has defined the producer’s career.
A large-scale visual production
The music video was directed by Sarah Ahlaloum, with cinematography by Hamza Gounin. Executive production was led by Maverick Studio, with Hamza Gounin and Youssef Barradi serving as executive producers. The production involved an extensive Moroccan-based crew across camera, lighting, art direction, styling, post-production, and visual effects, underscoring the project’s scale and ambition.
Editing and color grading were overseen by Mohamed El Fadel, with visual effects by Azedine Hiri and sound design by Wassim Ahajjam, resulting in a visually rich piece designed for global audiences.
RedOne and AFCON 2025
The release of “AFRICA” follows a series of AFCON-related projects by RedOne, who has positioned himself as a central cultural architect of the tournament’s musical identity. By uniting artists from different regions of the continent and its diaspora, the producer continues to use music as a vehicle for storytelling, representation, and soft power.
As AFCON 2025 approaches, “AFRICA” adds another layer to the tournament’s cultural narrative, reminding audiences that the competition is not only about football, but also about shared history, sound, and collective pride across the continent.
