Marrakech — As Africa hosts the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the continent’s most significant sporting and socio-cultural event, Orun is asserting a parallel agenda: positioning culture, design, and craftsmanship as strategic pillars of Africa’s future.

On January 8–9, Casablanca will host the inaugural Heirs of Greatness Day, launched under Orun x Designers.

The event brings together African artisans, designers, and cultural leaders to demonstrate how heritage can be structured into a sustainable, future-oriented creative economy.

Far from a showcase alone, Heirs of Greatness Day presents African craftsmanship as infrastructure, a system of knowledge, value creation, and global influence.

Through design, textile innovation, and high-end artisanal practices, the event articulates a pan-African aesthetic language rooted in excellence, authorship, and continuity.

The first edition highlights savoir-faire from Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal, with participating brands and designers including Yoshita 1967, Johanna Bramble, Olooh Concept, Jiamini, and Romzy.

Their collaborations reflect a shared ambition: moving African craft beyond preservation toward innovation, scale, and cultural authority.

Conceived as an immersive experience, the event navigates the space between tradition and modernity, asserting culture as a form of sovereignty.

Through Orun x Designers, Orun strengthens artisan–designer collaboration, structures transmission of know-how, and integrates digital innovation to expand the reach and durability of African creative industries.

Heirs of Greatness Day will take place at the Sacred Heart Church of Casablanca, an architectural landmark built in 1930 by Paul Tournon, blending Gothic and Art Deco influences.

Within this setting, a series of exclusive co-creations will be unveiled, designed specifically to embody Orun’s vision of unity, heritage, and forward-looking African design.

Orun is the creative and cultural subsidiary of ACN – Africa Currency Network, a pan-African holding company developing economic and creative models capable of driving long-term continental transformation.

Where ACN builds systems and methodologies that strengthen African capacities, Orun gives them cultural form, operating as an infrastructure for the training, structuring, and elevation of Africa’s next generation of creators, artisans, and builders.
