Rabat – Inspired by Morocco’s wealth of features: its bustling souks, boundless deserts, the glittering coastlines of Essaouira, and Bedouin culture, a family-run tailoring business, Cifonelli, has launched its newest Spring/Summer collection.
Cifonelli CEO Lionel Peralta artistically assembled the collection, which was conceived with two distinct ideas to encapsulate the “relaxed dunes of Marrakech” and the “vibrancy of Essaouira.”
According to Peralta, the team’s intense immersion in Morocco was the source of inspiration for the bespoke pieces, and the collection represents Morocco’s vibrant culture, the business magazine Forbes reported on January 10.
“The collection emanates the influence of the country’s vibrant culture. Earthy tones, reminiscent of the Moroccan landscape, permeate the color palette, harmoniously blending with intricate designs inspired by local artistry,” said Peralta of the tailoring house.
According to the CEO, the collection perfectly embodies Morocco’s essence, showcasing the beauty and diversity the design team saw while on tour.
The collection included low-key forms like pastel pink and neutral colors to recall the dunes of Marrakech, coupled with elegant, crisp suits influenced by Essaouira’s color palettes of heather gray and navy.
A thoughtful choice of materials, with an emphasis on airy cotton and breathable linens, elevates the collection. In a Forbes interview, Peralta said that these textiles allow for comfort in the warmer months, whilst showcasing Cifonelli’s constant commitment to using the best materials available.
Peralta stated that the Spring/Summer 2024 collection most pertinently captures the brand’s distinctive look, which blends traditional elegance with a modern edge. Each piece exudes a carefree appeal that skillfully combines modern design with traditional craftsmanship.
With regard to form, the focal point of the assortment is the well-known Marbeuf Jacket from the company, with its iconic French shoulder that has come to be associated with Cifonelli.
Starting on February 28, 2024, the Spring/Summer collection will be available in-store and on Cifonelli website.
