Lugano – South Korean K-pop group BIGBANG announced plans for a world tour in 2026 to mark the 20th anniversary of the group’s debut, according to the YG Entertainment agency.
The tour will reunite members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, marking a major return for the influential group as they celebrate two decades in the music industry.
The concert series was confirmed by YG Entertainment founder and executive producer Yang Hyun-suk, who announced the project as part of the company’s plans for 2026.
The comeback also coincides with YG Entertainment’s 30th anniversary, as the company prepares a year of new releases, artist returns, and upcoming debuts aimed at strengthening its global presence in the music industry.
The rise of one of K-pop’s most influential groups
Formed in 2006, BIGBANG originally consisted of five members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri.
The group quickly rose to prominence with a distinctive blend of hip-hop, pop, and R&B, while several members actively participated in songwriting and music production.
Over the past two decades, BIGBANG has helped expand the global reach of Korean pop music through chart-topping releases and large-scale international tours.
The group’s global influence was highlighted by its first world tour, “BIGBANG Alive Galaxy Tour,” which ran from March 2012 to January 2013, attracting 800,000 fans across 48 shows in 21 cities and 12 countries across Asia, North and South America, and Europe.
The group has also received numerous awards and became the first Korean act to win the Best Worldwide Act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Throughout its career, the group experienced several lineup changes. In 2019, BIGBANG lost one of its members when Seungri left the group, stepping away from the entertainment industry.
In 2023, T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung-hyun, announced his departure from the boy band.
The Korean artist has since appeared in the hit Netflix series “Squid Game,” where he portrayed the character Thanos, earning widespread attention for his performance.
In December last year, T.O.P also revealed on Instagram that he is preparing to release a new album, marking his first solo music project in 13 years.
This anniversary tour marks career milestone
The upcoming tour marks a major milestone for the group following several years focused on individual projects.
BIGBANG last released the single “Still Life” in 2022, which marked their first group release in several years.
The 20th anniversary world tour signals a new chapter for the group as they reconnect with fans across multiple countries while celebrating their two-decade legacy.
Additional details about tour dates, venues, and ticket sales are expected to be announced in the coming months.
