Casablanca – Moroccan actress Ilham Ouaziz is back this Ramadan with a new movie titled “Weld Nas.”
She shared a behind-the-scenes video of the project, keeping her fans excited for its release.
In the caption, Ouaziz wrote: “A social and human TV movie with exciting twists, a touch of humor… featuring a group of Moroccan stars along with a professional technical team.”
Directed by Hassan Rhanja, the movie was filmed in Taroudante. It follows three sisters after the death of their father. Each wants to get married and find stability, but their father’s final will contains a surprising condition they did not expect.
According to the will, the younger sisters cannot marry until their eldest sister does. In a socially aware tone mixed with comedy, the story follows the two younger sisters as they search for a husband for their older sibling.
While humorous, the movie also raises reflections on women’s roles in society. On International Women’s Day, it’s a timely reminder to consider whether, despite societal evolution, such challenges remain part of Moroccan reality. It makes us wonder: can women today truly make their own choices, or do old traditions still hold weight?
“Weld Nas” is set to air this Wednesday on 2M as part of the Ramadan lineup. Alongside Ouaziz, the cast features known Moroccan actors, such as Sahar Seddiki, Abir Garoui, Sanaa Fadel, Oussama Hanine, and Abdelhak Belmjahad.
Previously, Ilham Ouaziz appeared in the cinema movie “Chlahbia,” directed by Said Naciri and released in 2025. The movie marked another notable chapter in her cinematic career.
The beloved actress is best known for the sitcom “Dar El Warata,” a show that remains a deep source of nostalgia for many Moroccans who grew up watching it.
