CasablancaEnglishBooks.ma has opened its first physical store in Maarif, Casablanca, marking a shift from a fully digital platform to a real bookstore.

The store officially opened on February 27, offering readers the chance to browse English-language books in person.

Founded in 2019, EnglishBooks.ma initially operated entirely online. The platform focused on selling English books and delivering them to readers across Morocco. This comes at a time when the English language is increasingly gaining prominence and necessity in Morocco, with the rise in global markets in the North African country.

The team behind the platform has also participated in the International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL) in Casablanca and Rabat since 2020. These events were among the rare occasions when the books were available for direct purchase instead of online orders.

The bookstore will also take part in the 2026 edition of  SIEL, scheduled from April 30 to May 10 in Rabat. The fair is one of the largest literary events in Morocco and brings together publishers, authors, and readers every year.

Specializing in English-language books, the store offers a wide variety of genres. Visitors can find fiction, non-fiction, bestsellers, and children’s books, giving readers plenty of options to explore.

Because what else can make a reader happier other than a place filled with books, countless genres and endless stories waiting to be discovered?

The opening adds to the growing number of places in Morocco where readers can find books in English. For many members of the anglophone community, it provides a new destination to discover titles, browse shelves, and connect with other readers.

At a time when digital content dominates everyday life, the opening of a physical bookstore points to the lasting value of turning a physical page. Holding a book, exploring shelves, and discovering new titles in person remains an experience many readers still cherish.

During Ramadan, the store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Outside Ramadan, visitors can stop by between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
