Casablanca – Moroccan singer Karima Gouit will take the stage at “Rouh Al Turat” on April 12 at Rabat’s National Mohammed V Theatre, performing alongside Hamid El Kasri and Badr Ouabi.
The event brings together voices from different strands of Moroccan musical heritage, creating a blend of Gnawa, Chaabi, and contemporary Moroccan music with Amazigh influences on one stage.
Through this collaboration, the evening highlights the richness and diversity of Morocco’s traditional and contemporary sounds.
Gouit shared a video on her instagram account, inviting audiences to attend the concert. She opened the video in Amazigh and closed with a song in the same language, reflecting the cultural identity she consistently expresses in her performances.
Beyond singing, Gouit’s artistic path extends into modeling and acting. She first gained public attention as a model before rising to prominence through the eight edition of Star Academy in 2011.
She later developed a musical repertoire that includes tracks such as “Tamghra,” “Tassanou,” “Bent Lafchouch,” and “Mtelle3 Hajbo,” often emphasizing her Amazigh roots in her work.
She has also become a recurring figure on television in recent years, appearing in series such as “Bghit 7yatk,” “Sir Al Marjan,” and “Tazawwaj Ma Qalha Liyya” among many. Her latest appearance was in “Rahma,” whose second season aired this Ramadan on MBC 5.
The “Rouh Al Turat” concerts extend beyond Rabat, with another event scheduled on May 16 in Oujda at the Mohammed VI Theatre, featuring performances by Badr Soultan, Mouss Maher, and Badr Ouabi.
