Rabat – At Maroc Fashion Week in Marrakech, SHUXUAN arrived with a debut that felt less like a collection and more like a meditation in motion.

“My collection is about formlessness. It represents Eastern philosophy,” she told MWN Lifestyle.

The Chinese designer, founder of the Shanghai-based label SHUXUAN G, introduced a poetic vision titled around “formlessness,” drawing from Eastern philosophy and a quiet, radical idea of openness.

Her work is rooted in the idea of “emptiness,” a key philosophical concept in Eastern thought, particularly associated with traditions such as Taoist and Buddhist philosophy.

In this concept, emptiness is an invitation rather than a void, an openness to everything, a refusal of limitation, and a gentle release of control.

Her interpretation translates into a design language that resists rigidity.

Instead of defining the body through strict silhouettes, the collection leans into fluidity and suggestion, allowing garments to move with ease and ambiguity. It is fashion as atmosphere – light, unforced, and deliberately open-ended.

The liberation of being open to everything

Empty “is actually about accepting everything, like being very open-minded,” she said, framing her creative philosophy as both emotional and aesthetic.

Founded in Shanghai in 2018, SHUXUAN G is an eponymous label rooted in modern minimalism and oriental aesthetics, with a distinct resort sensibility.

The brand is known for blending swimwear elements into ready-to-wear and dresses, creating a language that feels spontaneous, feminine, and quietly unconventional.

Its guiding idea, “break the limitation, blooming beauty at will,” runs through her work as a philosophy of liberation, expressed through fabric, form, and movement.

Her first encounter with Morocco also shaped the tone of her experience.

Speaking about Marrakech, she described a city that feels suspended between work and escape.

“Even though I’m working, I still feel like it’s a holiday,” she told MWN Lifestyle.

The atmosphere is defined by its people, she stated, stressing: “The people here are full of energy and passion.”

Within the rhythm of Maroc Fashion Week, her debut stood out as a quiet contrast, introspective yet globally resonant.

SHUXUAN collection is ultimately built not on excess, but on space; not on definition, but on possibility.
