Rabat – Tickets are now available for the largest comedy festival in the Francophone world – Marrakech du Rire –  set to take place from June 15 to 18.

Local and international comedians such as Kev Adams, Jeff Panacloc, Talis, and Rachid Rafik will gather to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival.

With several well-known comedians participating in the event, laughter is guaranteed to fill the ochre city during the four days of the event.

The festival will kick off with “Gala Humouraji” with Taliss and the Humouraji troupe with the participation of several young talents, at Badii Palace.

In the evening, the mythical stage of the Badii Palace will host the Marrakech Comedy Club, an hour and a half performance from 10 renowned comedians.

Debbouze, alongside international artists, will take part in a promising show at the “Grand Gala du Marrakech du Rire” on June 17 and 18, the show will be broadcast worldwide.

A detailed program has yet to be revealed.

The 10th festival was initially scheduled for June 2020 but was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Marrakech du Rire is the largest comedy festival in the French-speaking world. More than  500 Arab and French speaking artists have performed on the stages of the festival in front of large audiences since its launch in 2011.

The festival has attracted over 550,000 visitors and over 70 million viewers on television.

According to the festival’s website, the estimated annual organization budget is approximately €3 million.

The festival has made donations and many other contributions for the benefit of associations such as L’Heure joyeuse, Al Karam, Noujoum, Magie à l’hôpital, and Fondation Eric Abidal.

In 2018, the festival broke the ticket sales record, selling more than  7,000 in a few days only.
