RABAT — Taghazout will once again become a meeting point for Morocco’s surf community as the Taghazout Surf Expo returns to Anchor Point for its fifth edition.
From athletes and surf brands to tourism professionals and enthusiasts, the four-day event will explore the different forces shaping the future of the surf industry.
With organizers expecting over 80 exhibitors and more than 40,000 visitors, this year’s expo will extend beyond boards, waves, and competition.
Its program will also examine the development of surf destinations, accommodation standards, international cooperation, and the role of technology in the sector.
From the waves to the technology world
Among the highlights of the 2026 edition is the unveiling of three applications developed in Morocco, presented in worldwide exclusivity.
Using artificial intelligence, the platforms are designed to support different aspects of the surf ecosystem, including competition, training and the experience of visitors and exhibitors.
The program will also address the relationship between surfing and the destinations built around it. Discussions will focus on surf villages, tourism development and the expansion of surf parks, while coastal preservation will remain an important part of the conversation.
For Taghazout, where surfing has long been intertwined with the local identity and tourism economy, the expo reflects a broader evolution.
The event first began as a celebration of the sport, and it now brings together the communities, businesses, and ideas developing around Morocco’s surf culture.
As the destination continues to attract surfers from Morocco and abroad, the fifth edition of Taghazout Surf Expo offers a look at how the industry is adapting to new technologies and tourism models, while keeping sustainability and the coast at the center of the conversation.
