Rabat – Art lovers in Morocco and around the world can now help choose Rabat’s favorite street art. The JIDAR Rabat Street Art Festival has launched the second edition of its Jidar Grand Prize, inviting the public to vote for their favourite mural among 14 artworks created during the festival’s 2026 edition.
The EAC L’Boulvart association, in partnership with Rabat Region Historical Heritage, opened online voting on November 1. The public can cast their votes until November 30 exclusively through the official website, grandprixjidar.ma.
The 14 competing murals were created during the festival’s 11th edition, which brought together 15 artists from Morocco, Russia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, France and South Africa.
The artists transformed walls between April 16 and 27 across Rabat’s Hassan, Youssoufia, Agdal-Ryad and Yaacoub El Mansour neighbourhoods.
The artworks explore different contemporary styles such as geometric abstraction and neo-folklore. Each mural also reflects the character of its surroundings, drawing inspiration from local architecture and details of everyday life.
Unlike traditional art competitions, the Jidar Grand Prize gives the public the final say. The mural that receives the highest number of votes will win the 2026 award. Its creator will also receive an artistic residency in Rabat, followed by an exhibition.
The initiative also welcomes back Ecuadorian artist Yankamanta, winner of the first edition. He will arrive in Rabat on November 7 for a residency that will last nearly a month. His stay will end with an exhibition opening on December 5 at Maison Gharbaoui, located at the Chellah site.
The organizers will announce the 2026 winner during the opening ceremony.
