Rabat – Hotels Magazine has named Marrakech’s Palace La Mamounia General Manager, Pierre Jochem, as the world’s best general manager of the year. 

Jochem has served as the hotel’s general manager since 2014 and the recognition is highly prestigious as the magazine considers only the most luxurious of establishments for the award.

The GM has a rich history of service in the hotel and tourism industry. After serving as the Restaurant Manager at Park Hyatt in London, Jochem worked in Thailand, China, the US, and even India’s famous Imperial Palace in New Delhi.

In addition, the GM’s time at La Mamounia in Marrakech has been spent managing a team of over 650 personnel while overseeing renovations and new development projects to revamp the hotel.

La Mamounia is a five star hotel and describes General Manager Pierre Jochem as a “natural leader, excellent manager, recognized expert in luxury hotels and rich in immense international experience.”

A standard double bedroom at the hotel starts at approximately MAD 4,000 ($446.5) per night as the hotel was formerly a palace dating back to the 12th century.
