Marrakech – Prada is set to join the K-pop fan craze by adding rapper Karina, the standout star of girl group Aespa, to its elite lineup of brand ambassadors.
The Italian luxury giant is diving deeper into the K-pop wave, following its recent collaboration with the seven members of Enhypen.
Karina, the 24-year-old sensation, made a memorable splash at Prada’s fall 2024 men’s show in Milan, turning heads in a viral silk gazar shift dress from the spring 2024 collection.
The South Korean singer and rapper, Yu Ji-min, better known as Karina, burst onto the scene in 2020 as a key member of the girl group Aespa, as part of a partnership with SM Entertainment.
She was introduced to the world with the band’s debut single, “Black Mamba,” which set the K-pop world ablaze.
The girl band, renowned for its metaverse concept and hyperpop sound, has skyrocketed to fame both locally and globally.
Their first studio album, “Armageddon,” released last May, features the hit single “Supernova.”
Karina, celebrated for her multiple talents, also joined the South Korean supergroup Got the Beat in 2022, another SM Entertainment creation.
This powerhouse ensemble of seven female artists boasts impressive solo careers and previous band successes, adding yet another feather to Karina’s glittering experiences.
In her new role, Karina rubs shoulders with a star-studded lineup of South Korean talent.
She joins actor Kim Tae-ri, singers Jeon So-mi and Sana Minatozaki (the Japanese-born artist who has rocked the Twice girl band since 2015), and singer-songwriter Jaehyun from NCT.
Not to mention, the crew also includes the seven members of Enhypen, making it a powerhouse collection of talent.
Other notable faces in Prada’s brand ambassador lineup include Harris Dickinson, Damson Idris, Hunter Schafer, Letitia Wright, Jia Ling, and Ma Yili, adding to the luxury brand’s diverse and star-studded roster.
