Marrakech – Initially scheduled for May 30-31, the beloved Comediablanca Festival has decided to shift its dates slightly forward.

Mark your calendars: it’s now happening on May 29-30, at the Mohammed V Complex.

Why the last-minute change? Let’s just say, when Wydad Athletic Club announces a major match on May 31 — right next to the festival grounds — organizers had a choice: go head-to-head with Casablanca’s football fever, or make room for everyone to enjoy both passions, drama-free.

So here’s the new plan: May 29 will spotlight the Arabophone gala, and May 30 will welcome the Francophone gala.

Nothing else changes — except maybe the number of smiles per square meter.

“In Morocco, passion runs deep. With a heartfelt love for our nation and in everyone’s best interest, we made this decision. Between football and comedy, the entire country pulses with emotion, and we want everyone to enjoy both, safely and joyfully,” said Saad Lahjouji Idrissi, President of Comediablanca.

It’s the kind of scheduling flexibility that screams Moroccan spirit — gracious, joyful, and just a little bit cheeky.

Because honestly, who else would shift a comedy festival for a football match and still manage to make it sound like a love letter to the city?

This tiny tweak in the calendar means everyone gets their moment: football fans can cheer without stress, and comedy lovers can laugh without logistical chaos.
