Somerset – A Turkish construction company based in Konya shipped on Wednesday two commercial planes to Morocco’s city of Agadir, with plans to repurpose the aircraft into a restaurant.

Behind the major project is company owner Ali Sezgin, who specializes in the manufacturing of prefabricated.

Sezgin spoke about his input on the plane project in an interview with the Turkish news outlet Anadolu Agency, explaining that the two planes were once used for commercial flights from two different airlines.

The work to repurpose the planes is part of a holiday center project built in Morocco. Ultimately Sezgin hopes to transform the aircraft into a restaurant and a cafe; the designer hopes that the renovation sparks interest and that they are an “object of curiosity.”

According to the Anadolu Agency’s report, the construction on the planes will take around three months to be transformed into an eatery. Within the next six months, Sezgin hopes the business will be open to the public, just in time for the busy tourist season in Agadir.

The restaurant will feature Italian and French cuisine on the menu.

This is not the first project Sezgin has completed in Morocco; he has worked on a variety of construction projects including a water park and a cable car in Agadir.
