Among all pictorial genres, it is the portrait that primarily interests Moustapha Baidi Oumarou.

In the artist’s works, one can recognize both a certain affiliation with the full-length photographic portraits of the great masters of the genre, such as Malick Sidibeé, Seydou Keïta, or Michel Kameni, highlights the press release.

In the artist catalog about the exhibit, writer Olivier Rachet, notes that, “The vibrant, sometimes flashy colors employed by Moustapha Baidi Oumarou would not be out of place in a sapology manual.”

He also said that, “”Nature, lush and abundant, often invades the space of the canvas. Wild, untamed, mirroring the thirst for life that seems to animate each character, this vegetation presents itself to us in all its magical and Edenic dimensions.”
