Marrakech – On Monday, Federal agents carried out raids on properties belonging to rapper and media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents spearheaded the inquiry, particularly in New York, where a lawsuit was filed against Combs in federal court back in November.
The lawsuit, brought forth by a former girlfriend, accuses the mogul of involvement in sex trafficking.
Combs, aged 54, has firmly declared his innocence, brushing off the accusations as “a quick payday” by his accusers, according to Reuters.
However, his New York-based lawyer, Ben Brafman, has yet to respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.
In response to a query from Reuters, spokespersons from US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) stated, “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners.”
According to reports from local news outlets, federal authorities also carried out a search warrant at the rap mogul’s residence in the Miami area.
Footage from Reuters depicted officers entering and exiting the property located on Miami Beach’s Star Island.
Agents were observed carrying a box of materials from the premises.
As for Combs himself, his whereabouts during the raids remain undisclosed.
In the previous year, Combs reached a settlement in a lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie.
She had accused him of both physical and sexual abuse over the course of several years.
Another individual who has come forward with accusations against Combs alleges that he, along with two other men, sexually assaulted her two decades ago when she was only 17 years old.
Additionally, producer Rodney Jones has accused Combs of sexual assault, alleging that Combs forced him to hire sex workers and engage in sexual acts with them, as reported by The Guardian.
