Called “Qiddiya City“ this architectural marvel is turning Saudi Arabia into a motorsports and entertainment powerhouse.

Fez– In case you haven’t heard, Saudi Arabia is building a city from scratch, again. This one, called “Qiddiya City”, comes with a twist: a mind-bending Formula 1 track where the first corner alone reaches the height of a 20-story building.

Set to open in 2027, Qiddiya City is being positioned as Saudi Arabia’s next big playground for sports, entertainment, and culture, just outside of Riyadh.

But it’s the Qiddiya Speed Park Track that’s stealing all the early attention.

This isn’t your average race circuit. With 21 corners, massive elevation shifts, and a design meant to rival the most dramatic tracks on the F1 calendar, Qiddiya’s track is being tailor-made for high-stakes spectacle.

Think Monaco meets a roller coaster.

One of the standout features? A section called “The Blade”, a cantilevered part of the track that looks like it’s hanging midair.

The design offers two configurations: a standard open race track and a street-style layout. In short, it’s meant to keep both drivers and fans on their toes.

According to the Qiddiya Investment Company, this track is not just about flair. It’s being engineered to eventually host the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, replacing the current Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

While the official date hasn’t been pinned down yet, 2028 is looking like a strong possibility.

But Qiddiya isn’t just about racing. The city aims to be a full-blown entertainment powerhouse, with a Six Flags theme park, a massive Aquarabia waterpark, and an entire district dedicated to gaming and esports.

Expect professional arenas, massive tournaments, and a whole new level of hype for regional gamers.

There’s even a nod to motorsport lovers outside the F1 circle: the Speed Park will be open for track days and other racing events, giving enthusiasts a chance to test their limits on the same asphalt that could soon host world champions.

So what does all this mean? Qiddiya City isn’t just another mega-project; it’s a very loud, very fast signal that Saudi Arabia wants to become a global capital for motorsports and entertainment.

If everything goes according to plan, by 2027, the phrase “start your engines” might have a whole new meaning in the desert.
