Rabat– With production now underway in the UK, Netflix has unveiled a first look at its upcoming “Pride and Prejudice limited series and confirmed its supporting cast.

Emma Corrin leads the cast as Elizabeth Bennet, alongside Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy and Olivia Colman as the formidable Mrs. Bennet. Rounding out the Bennet family, Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) joins as Mr. Bennet, with Freya Mavor (Industry) portraying the eldest sister, Jane.

Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) will play Mr. Collins, while Daryl McCormack (Knives Out 3) takes on Mr. Bingley. On the other hand, Louis Partridge, Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, and Fiona Shaw also join the cast. Newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery will portray Mary and Kitty Bennet.

The cast also includes Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon.

Directed by Heartstopper’s Euros Lyn and written by Dolly Alderton, the six-part limited series aims to stay true to Jane Austen’s beloved 1813 novel.

“Once in a generation, people get the chance to retell this story,” said Alderton to Tudum. “Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy — bringing it to life has been a joy.”

Executive producers on the series include Emma Corrin, Laura Lankester, Dolly Alderton, Euros Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne is the producer.

“To be able to bring this iconic character to life, alongside Olivia and Jack, with Dolly’s phenomenal scripts, is truly the greatest honor. I can’t wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story all over again,” said Corrin.

With an acclaimed cast and a team of creatives dedicated to honoring the original novel, Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice is shaping up to be a fresh yet faithful retelling of Austen’s timeless love story.
