Rabat – Released in Japanese theaters last July, “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” is now the 10th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, according to the latest box office figures, and the highest-grossing film of the year, surpassing “Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback.

This phenomenal performance mirrors that of “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train,” which also became the 10th-highest-grossing film in Japan within 17 days in 2020.

Notably, Infinity Castle’s current takings are nearly 2 billion yen higher than “Mugen Train” during the same timeframe, underscoring the exceptional box office success of both Demon Slayer films.

The film’s artistic execution truly sets it apart. The movie has been widely celebrated for its breathtaking animation, dynamic fight choreography, and immersive world-building.

It combines seamless 2D and CGI visuals to deliver hyper-detailed backgrounds, fluid choreography, and dynamic camera work that immerses viewers in the shifting architecture of Infinity Castle.

Much of that impact comes from ufotable’s exceptional craftsmanship. Under the direction of Haruo Sotozaki, the film delivers fluid, cinematic animation and intricate character work by Akira Matsushima, all elevated by the emotionally resonant score from Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.

The team creates a visually arresting and emotionally immersive experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

Beyond the impressive box office figures, the creators of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” have expressed profound gratitude for the immense support.

In a recent interview with Crunchyroll, Yuichi Terao, Director of Photography at ufotable, shared his heartfelt appreciation, stating, “I just want to say thank you to… the people who have supported the ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba project this far.”

“I don’t want to just make this a numbers game. I know people chase the big megahit, but we try to look beyond that…to be able to continue making anime. For us, there’s nothing greater.”

This sentiment was echoed in a “thank you” message posted on the anime’s official X account, which states, “In the midst of consecutive hot days, we deeply appreciate each and every one of you who has taken the time to visit the theater.”

Following the events of the Swordsmith Village Arc, “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” immediately thrusts our heroes into peril, as the fight for humanity’s future just takes a literal turn for the dizzying.

After a shocking turn of events, Tanjiro and the formidable Demon Slayer Corps find themselves hurled into the terrifying, ever-shifting depths of the Infinity Castle, the ultimate stronghold of the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji.

Scattered and isolated within this impossible labyrinth, our heroes must confront their most powerful foes yet, facing off against demons who hold untold horrors and strength.

This isn’t just a battle; it’s a desperate struggle for survival, where every shadow could hide a deadly enemy, and every twist of the castle could lead to their doom. The stage is set for a final, earth-shattering confrontation that will decide the very fate of the world.

International fans can mark their calendars, as Infinity Castle is slated to hit global theaters by September. More details on its broader international release will be unveiled on the movie’s official website soon.
