Rabat- The majority of current college students rely on artificial intelligence support to get through their degrees, many even investing $20 (about 180 MAD) a month for the ChatGPT premium subscription. However, students aren’t the only ones who recognize the power of AI. The US government quickly caught sight of this powerful tool and has made a deal so that OpenAI hands over the ChatGPT Enterprise for basically free.

OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman announced on Wednesday that the federal executive branch workforce would have access to this technology at “essentially no cost,” only having to pay $1 (roughly 9 MAD) the next year.

The US government and OpenAI have been working very closely to push forward President Trump’s AI Action Plan. In June, OpenAI for Government was launched after a $200 million (about 1,812,400,400 MAD) contract by the US Department of Defense.

OpenAI called the initiative a “First-of-its-kind partnership,” per their website.

“This effort delivers on a core pillar of the Trump Administration’s AI Action Plan by making powerful AI tools available across the federal government so that workers can spend less time on red tape and paperwork, and more time doing what they came to public service to do: serve the American people.”

The workers will gain access to ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode and other features. “Helping government work better – making services faster, easier, and more reliable—is a key way to bring the benefits of AI to everyone,” posted OpenAI.

“Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employees using ChatGPT saved an average of about 95 minutes per day on routine tasks. In North Carolina, 85% of participants in a separate 12-week pilot with the Department of State Treasurer reported a positive experience with ChatGPT,” published the AI company.

ChatGPT claims that they will help Americans solve problems in a safer and faster capacity. OpenAI is rapidly growing as it announced a $40 billion funding round in March at a $300 billion valuation. CNBC reported that the company and its investors are currently in talks about a potential stock sale at a price of roughly $500 billion.
