Fez — Kseniya Alexandrova, a Russian model and television personality who represented her country at the 2017 Miss Universe competition, has died at the age of 30.
Her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, confirmed her death on August 13. Russian media reported that Alexandrova died the previous day in a road accident on the M9 highway. She was reportedly traveling with her husband when their vehicle struck a moose that had entered the roadway, resulting in fatal head injuries.
Alexandrova had publicly shared news of her marriage earlier this year. Her husband survived the crash, but further details were not disclosed.
Born in Moscow, Alexandrova earned a degree in finance from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. She rose to national prominence after placing as the first runner-up in the Miss Russia 2017 competition. She went on to represent Russia at Miss Universe that same year, held in Las Vegas.
Her appearance in the global pageant brought her widespread recognition, showcasing her poise and confidence on an international stage. The competition helped propel her career beyond modeling, opening opportunities in television and public speaking.
In recent years, Alexandrova pursued a career in mental health, announcing in 2022 that she was practicing as a psychodrama therapist.
Her death prompted tributes from the Miss Universe Organization and others in the international pageant and modeling community.
