Marrakech – After a breakout first season, “High Potential” is officially back, and this time, ABC is promising sharper mysteries, bigger risks, and a whole new player shaking up the LAPD team.
The show will premiere on September 16 on ABC, streaming the next day on Hulu.
At the center, of course, is Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), the single mom with razor-sharp analytical skills that make her both a wildcard and a secret weapon. She’s still juggling motherhood and murder boards, but in season two, the stakes aren’t just professional; they’re personal.
ABC just dropped the first batch of teaser images, and if you’re a fan of dissecting every clue, you’ll want to zoom in.
One shot shows Morgan in a tense huddle inside a relief barn, where the team looks poised to receive game-changing intel from the shadowy figure known only as “The Game Master.”
Another shows Morgan locked in her signature pose, eyes narrowed, focus razor-sharp, in front of a case board brimming with unanswered questions.
But the biggest shake-up comes in uniform. Enter Captain Nick Wagner (played by Reba and True Lies alum Steve Howey), making his debut with a handshake and the kind of charisma you can already tell is going to test Morgan’s independence.
As the new leader of the LAPD unit, Wagner’s presence signals both collaboration and conflict.
Because let’s be honest: putting a woman who rewrote the rulebook next to a man who lives by it? Sparks are bound to fly.

And then there’s the wildcard no one can ignore. David Giuntoli’s mysterious “Game Master” still lingers over the series like a shadow you can’t quite shake.
His twisted puzzles closed out season one, forcing the team into deadly challenges, and he’s back to torment them again.
Only this time, it looks like Morgan might have already crossed paths with him. A leaked scene shows her sketching out his likeness, suggesting she’s closer to the truth than ever.
But with every riddle he sets, the risk sharpens: Will the Game Master’s next move target her directly?
Well, we’ll be the first to know, but don’t worry, no spoilers from us. Or should we?
