Fez — Organizers of the Arabesques Festival announced that Morocco will take center stage in this year’s Arabesques Festival, running from September 9-21, in Montpellier, France.

The event is recognized as one of Europe’s most important showcases for Arab arts and culture and will feature artists, musicians, and performers representing the Kingdom across a variety of disciplines.

Morocco’s participation includes concerts, film screenings, art exhibitions, and literary events that celebrate the country’s heritage and innovation.

Traditional music such as Gnaoua and malhoun will share the stage with contemporary Moroccan jazz, fusion, and visual arts.

Beyond the performances, the festival aims to deepen dialogue between cultures. With its strategic geographic and cultural position, the North African country’s presence emphasizes the bridge it represents between Africa, the Arab world, and Europe.

This year’s Arabesques Festival marks its 20th anniversary, making Morocco’s role as guest of honor particularly symbolic.

Organizers said the program seeks to highlight the richness of Moroccan identity and its ability to inspire across generations and borders.

For Moroccan performers, the festival provides an international stage to reach new audiences. Emerging talents will perform alongside established names, reflecting the diversity of the Kingdom’s cultural landscape.

For many attendees, Morocco’s spotlight is not only an artistic showcase but also a chance to reconnect with heritage.

The festival becomes a shared celebration where Moroccan traditions are experienced alongside contemporary interpretations, reinforcing cultural pride and opening new conversations across borders.

The Arabesques Festival continues until later this month, with Moroccan artists featured prominently in headline events.

This spotlight on Morocco emphasizes the country’s growing influence in global cultural dialogue.
