Marrakech – The Federation Royale Marocaine de Triathlon (FRMTRI) and Madaef Sports & Events (MSE) have announced the organization of the African Triathlon Cup – Taghazout Bay 2025, scheduled for September 21.
The event will take place in the scenic tourist destination of Taghazout Bay and is expected to attract nearly 100 elite athletes from over 25 countries, including two Moroccan competitors, all seeking valuable points for the African and global rankings.
Taghazout Bay has steadily positioned itself as a hotspot for sports tourism, attracting enthusiasts of surfing, bodyboarding, golf, and now triathlon.
With its challenging and scenic course, modern infrastructure, pristine natural surroundings, beautiful beaches, favorable climate, and proximity to Agadir, Taghazout Bay is ideally suited to host a continental-scale competition.
The African Triathlon Cup – Taghazout Bay 2025 highlights Morocco’s growing commitment to sports events, enhancing the international profile of Taghazout Bay and solidifying the country’s status as a global sports and tourism hub.
Event format
Athletes will compete in a 750 m swim, 20 km cycling, and 5 km run course in Taghazout Bay.
Alongside the continental event, the Moroccan National Age Group Championship Finale will take place on September 20, offering amateur and young triathletes the opportunity to compete over Olympic distances in a competitive yet friendly environment: 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling, and 10 km run.
The Tawenza Square Esplanade will serve as the central hub of the competition, providing easy access for athletes and the public and fostering interaction among sports enthusiasts and visitors.
