Marrakech — The Bahri Association has announced an exclusive partnership with Veolia Maroc, a leading player in ecological transformation, to support Morocco’s national waste collection team as it competes in the 2nd edition of the Spogomi World Cup in Tokyo this October 2025.

The unique competition features timed contests in which participants are tasked with picking up as much trash as possible.

This collaboration reflects the shared values of both organizations: protecting the environment, mobilizing citizens, and taking tangible action for the planet.

Through this partnership, Veolia Maroc reaffirms its commitment to a human-centered approach to ecology, backing an initiative that blends sportsmanship, civic engagement, and environmental impact.

Following the national qualifying round held in Casablanca in June, which was organized by the Japanese Embassy in Morocco and featured 30 teams, the winning team will represent Morocco in Japan starting October 25.

The goal is to surpass the country’s 5th-place finish in 2023, when 24 nations participated.

Ahead of their trip, the national team joined a major beach cleanup in Rabat on October 18, organized by the Bahri Association.

The event brought together Veolia Maroc employees, volunteers, students, and environmentally conscious citizens in a collective effort to protect Morocco’s coastline.
