Marrakech – After a 13-year hiatus, Enrique Iglesias is returning to Mumbai to perform two major concerts on October 29 and 30 at the MMRDA Grounds, one of the most anticipated live music events in India this year.
Before landing in Mumbai, the global pop star sent a heartfelt message to his Indian fans, saying, “I’m so excited to be back in India. My fans there are some of the most passionate in the world.”
In an exclusive interview with India Today, Iglesias shared his enthusiasm about reconnecting with his Indian audience.
“The fan base in India is massive. There’s a real appreciation for music, people are full of energy and life. I can’t wait to perform for them again… and to try some Indian food too,” he said.
Authenticity creates real, deep connection
Known for his spontaneous and emotionally charged performances, Iglesias believes that his secret to lasting success lies in authenticity. “I sing from the heart — and when you do that, real connection happens,” he explained.
Enrique Iglesias has built a loyal following in India since the 1990s, with hits like “Hero,” “Bailando”, and “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You)” resonating deeply with generations of fans.
Despite the shift in musical trends, his songs continue to unite Millennials and Gen Z listeners, solidifying his place in India’s modern pop culture memory.
Intriguingly, Iglesias hinted at a possible collaboration with Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan for the actor’s upcoming film King. With a smile, he teased, “I’m always open to new ideas… and who knows? Maybe something’s already in the works.”
The Spanish singer previously teamed up with Indian artist Sunidhi Chauhan on the Heartbeat (India Mix), a cross-cultural hit that became a symbol of East-meets-West collaboration.
