Marrakech – The city of Guelmim came alive on Wednesday night with the vibrant rhythms of Jaylann, Zakaria Ghafouli, and Hamid El Kasri during a spectacular concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Green March.

Residents and visitors alike sang and danced to a lively fusion of chaabi, Moroccan pop, and gnaoua music, creating a colorful and emotionally charged atmosphere.

The evening kicked off with rising star Jaylann, who opened the show with her patriotic hit “Ha Wlidi.”

The song, now an emblem of national pride, breathed new life into Morocco’s patriotic repertoire with its powerful vocals and chaabi-inspired rhythm.

The audience’s enthusiasm led her to perform the song again by popular demand.

Throughout her set, Jaylann performed fan favorites such as “Labass,” “Allo Allo,” and “Chi Wqat,” while also paying tribute to chaabi classics like “Moul Lkoutchi” and “Ach Dak Tmchi Lzine.”

She was followed by Zakaria Ghafouli, who ignited the stage with some of his biggest hits, including “La Tkeber Chane,” “Bahra Bahra,” and “Hobino.” Ghafouli also delighted the audience with a special rendition of “Hassna w Ya Layla,” a beloved piece from the Sahrawi musical tradition.

Closing the night, the legendary Hamid El Kasri captivated the crowd with the deep, spiritual sounds of gnaoua music, performing timeless pieces such as “Moulay Ahmed” and “Aicha Hamdouchia.”
