Fez – Megarama cinemas across Morocco have started screening “Predator: Badlands,” the latest installment in the iconic sci-fi franchise. The film introduces a bold narrative shift, with a young predator as its central character, pursuing a fresh direction for the long-running series.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who previously helmed “Prey” (2022), “Predator: Badlands” premiered globally today. Moroccan moviegoers can now experience the film in major Megarama locations including Casablanca, Marrakech, and Fez.
A new take on an iconic alien
Set in a distant future on a hostile alien planet, the film follows Dek, a young alien predator exiled from his clan. Teaming up with Thia, a wounded synthetic woman played by Elle Fanning, Dek embarks on a dangerous journey through unpredictable terrain. The storyline reverses the franchise’s typical predator-prey dynamic, humanizing the alien warrior in an emotional survival tale.
Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi co-stars as Dek, with the film blending fast-paced action, visual spectacle, and moral ambiguity. The final trailer, released in late October, teases rich world-building and atmospheric tension — a signature of the Predator series.
Available in 4D and premium formats
At Megarama Casablanca, the film is featured in 4D E-Motion with 7.1 surround sound, offering an immersive viewing experience. Fes and Marrakech branches are also screening the film in both French-dubbed and subtitled versions, with schedules available on Megarama Morocco’s website.
The film’s release has been promoted through Megarama’s official Instagram account, drawing attention to its high-stakes action and futuristic setting.
Building on franchise legacy
Since its inception in 1987, the Predator franchise has captivated fans with its blend of science fiction, suspense, and primal confrontation. Badlands adds a new chapter that both honors the series’ roots and explores uncharted territory.
Moroccan audiences have consistently embraced big-budget science-fiction releases. The local debut of “Predator: Badlands” adds to a growing list of international blockbusters drawing crowds to domestic cinemas, particularly as 4D and luxury screening formats gain popularity.
