To mark the recent inscription of Deepavali – Festival of Lights on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Embassy of India partnered with Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Rabat Region Historical Heritage Company (RRPH) for a special cultural programme at the Chellah Archaeological Site.

Held on December 10, the event highlighted the richness of Indian artistic traditions through an evening dedicated to classical and contemporary music and dance.

The celebration underscored the growing cultural ties between India and Morocco, while showcasing Deepavali’s universal themes of light, renewal, and community.

Set against the historic backdrop of Chellah, the performance brought together diplomats, cultural figures, and members of the public, creating a vibrant exchange of heritage and artistic expression.
