Marrakech – Scheduled for release on July 17 of next year, The Odyssey continues to build anticipation as its promotional campaign gradually reveals new behind-the-scenes images from the film’s international shoot, spanning Morocco, Italy, Greece, and the United Kingdom.
Shot entirely in IMAX, the ambitious adaptation of Homer’s epic is led by Matt Damon as Odysseus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope.
The film boasts a high-profile ensemble cast including Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, and Charlize Theron, reinforcing its positioning as one of the most ambitious cinematic projects of the decade.
Exclusively published by the American magazine Entertainment, the newly released images offer a glimpse into key moments of the production.
One photograph captures Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and her son Telemachus (Tom Holland) watching from Ithaca, awaiting the long-anticipated return of Odysseus.
Morocco features prominently among the film’s locations. A scene shot at the iconic Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, expected to stand in for the ancient city of Troy, appears in a behind-the-scenes still showing director Christopher Nolan behind the camera, surrounded by a large group of Moroccan extras.
The image highlights both the scale of the production and Morocco’s continued appeal as a major destination for international filmmaking.
Another striking photograph, taken on a beach, shows Matt Damon in full Odysseus attire, framed by a fleet of ships, an image that underscores the epic scope and visual ambition of the film.
