Rabat – After Lionsgate released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming biopic “Michael” in November 2025, the studio has now unveiled a more detailed official trailer ahead of the film’s anticipated release in April 2026.

While the first teaser provided a broad overview of the film, the newly released preview dives deeper into the narrative and visual style of the project, offering global audiences a clearer sense of what to expect from this cinematic portrayal of Michael Jackson’s life.

Scheduled to premiere in theaters on April 24, 2026, Michael promises a sweeping look at the achievements and complexities of one of the most influential performers in music history.

The film is led by Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson who makes his feature-film debut in the role. His casting has drawn particular attention due to both his close familial connection and his physical and artistic resemblance to Jackson.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael is positioned as a comprehensive biographical drama, tracing Jackson’s evolution from a child prodigy with the Jackson 5 to a global cultural phenomenon whose influence reshaped popular music and performance.

Fans of cinema, and especially of Michael Jackson, are already thrilled, having eagerly engaged with both the teaser and the newly released official trailer.

One Youtube user wrote, “Every time Michael Jackson is mentioned, the world seems to come to life,” capturing the excitement and anticipation surrounding the film.

Others reflected on the emotional weight of the release, with one fan noting, “A moment of silence for everyone who didn’t survive long enough to see this trailer drop.” Many expressed admiration for the casting choice, with another comment reading, “I’m excited about this movie coming out! What an honor to MJ. His nephew playing him.”
