Rabat – Yesterday, Prince William and Princess Kate made a public return in matching burgundy colors to the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), marking their first appearance together on the red carpet since 2023.
Princess Kate wore a flowing pink gown with a soft touch of burgundy, subtly matching her husband’s velvet tuxedo jacket. They looked elegant as they greeted guests and waved at the crowd.
Prince William attended the ceremony in his role as President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
During the evening, he presented the BAFTA Fellowship Award, the Academy’s highest honor, to Donna Langley for her contribution to the film industry.
The couple made a public appearance at London’s Royal Festival Hall after a hard week for the royal family.
Following the arrest of William’s uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, on February 19, 3 days before the ceremony on suspicion of misconduct in public life.
The outing took place just three days after British police arrested William’s uncle, former Prince Andrew, on February 19 over alleged misconduct in public office.
Mountbatten-Windsor, has long been under scrutiny for his past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He has not faced criminal charges and denies any wrongdoing.
The appearance marked an important return for the Princess of Wales, who missed last year’s ceremony while undergoing cancer treatment.
In 2024, William attended alone, and in 2025 the couple did not attend after Kate announced her recovery from cancer.
Recently, Kate spoke about her experience and reflected on her health journey, describing it as a path that includes moments of fear and exhaustion, but also strength and connection.
Despite recent challenges, the couple’s presence at the BAFTAs signaled stability and continued support for Britain’s creative industries during a sensitive time for the royal family.
